Hands-on Walking Tour

Due to coronavirus and the hands-on nature  we have decided to suspend all Science in the City walks for the time being. We are currently developing a new tour to celebrate Florence Nightingale's 200th birthday and we hope to launch this later in the year. Watch this space!

Discover more about the scientists, artists and other thinkers who walked Derby's streets. Get into the spirit of investigation by stopping for hands-on science demos and experiment with the city itself! Our walk will last approximately 90 minutes. Meet outside the Quad in Derby Market Place

Enjoy a gentle stroll around the park in search of stars, planets and other celestial treasures. This is a gentle walk, but is partly over grass and it will be dark. Please wear sensible shoes.

Please contact us if you are interested in this.

Join us for a stroll around Alvaston Park's Science Garden where we will visit the planets of the inner solar system and discover what else the UK's first Science Garden has to offer. We will pause to try some science activites and find out about the various local groups who were involved in it's creation. The walk is mostly on paths, there is one section which is over grass, but a path option will be available.
